I'm Dan, I'm 19, and I split my time between Farnham (at uni), Brecon and Hereford.

Well, this is it. I’ve actually reached the last post. When I set out to do something like this, I always imagined that I would give up after a few months. But first, a little bit about my day today (and last night):
I got the bus into Cardiff and once I got to my friend’s house, we almost immediate started drinking. Midway through, we nipped to a Subway to grab something to eat. I had my usual. Ham and cheese, with sweetcorn, onion, and mayo. On honey oat bread. Obviously.
Later on, we went round one of his friends house to drink, and then went out on the town. From here, my memory starts to get a little hazy, but I imagine I was my usual obnoxious drunk self, thinking I’m funny and spouting obscenities.
I woke up this morning with a stamp on my hand. I think we went to Clwb Ifor Bach. My friend had already left, and trusted me to grab my things and get the bus back. I fiddled with his laptop first (changing his background and homepage), so he will have a nice surprise when he sees them.
When I got back to Brecon, I spent most of my time lounging around. I went to the pub with another friend (one who I hadn’t seen in a while) around 4, and got back about an hour ago. I wasn’t drinking, not after last night. I had a delayed hangover, and little money, so I was drinking Coke.
And now, back to talking about the blog. These sorts of projects usually fail after about a week for me, so I’m surprised I’ve actually managed to keep up with it all. I’ve not done a post on every day. Often I write up 3 days worth of posts in a row, write them in the present tense and then backdate them. There was a little hiccup in December, but I still put out a post for each of those days. I made it fairly clear in the last few months that I’ve not enjoyed doing this, and it’s really been a chore. And to an extent, it has, but I’ve stuck with it.
I calculated that if I write 250 words per post, (some will be more, some will be less), this year, I’ve written 91,250 words. This is about the size of a novel. Of course, my blog is much less interesting than a novel, and contains many ‘today I have done nothing’ posts.
Perhaps I’ll look back on this year of blogging (retrospectively I should have started on Jan 1st) and just reminisce. But I won’t be doing any more. I did ponder for a little while whether or not I should just continue, and see how long I go for, but I don’t particularly want to.
That’s not to say I won’t continue blogging though, I’m required to as part of my course. Maybe I’ll set up another blog and use Tumblr for its proper use, which is to post small blogs about interesting things. We’ll see. I only decided to use Tumblr because it was the most intuitive and user-friendly of the blogging sites I looked at.
So, in summary, to anyone who’s ever read this, and to the people who have provided me something to write about (regardless of how much I actually like you), I thank you.
This has been a year of my life.
